FIL Decision on Women's Field Lacrosse Sticks - July 24, 2018

Posted by Pacific Rim Field Lacrosse on Jul 25 2018 at 07:11AM PDT in 2017-18 Regular Season

TO: All Women’s Field Coaches, Players, and Managers:

We wanted to send out an important message around the rules with regard to the Women’s Field Lacrosse sticks for this upcoming season.

The CLA members must follow the full FIL ruling regarding the Women’s Field crosses (the plastic head). As a member of the CLA, the BCLA membership must adhere to these rules.

In previous years, we have been allowed to use crosses (heads) that are legal in the US (i.e., NCAA) as long as they had FIL legal pockets (inner stringing), but this IS NOT the case anymore. The policy has changed for Canadian play and Canadian National Championships, so in Canada, we are only allowed to use FIL approved sticks.

Please refer to the FIL 2018 FIL approved Crosses and Pockets available on the website link below. If your lacrosse stick is NOT on this list, then it is NOT legal.

Please ensure that your daughter has a legal stick for this upcoming season.

Feel free to contact Jason Carr if you have any questions about the Women’s Field Lacrosse sticks – (604) 816-3125 or E-Mail:
